Functional Kettlebell Training

Functional Kettlebell Training

I started strength training when I found that trail running alone wasn’t enough to build muscle as I age. At the same time, I needed to build muscle to support all of the long, mountain running I was doing.

I committed to getting my certification to train others after seeing and feeling the results from using kettlebells.

It wasn’t until I started upping the weight and chasing numbers that I found the diminishing returns of strength training for ultra athletes.

I now find myself in the wonderful rabbit hole of unconventional training. Instead of constantly adding more weight and heavier bells, I’ve found ways to help put on the muscle we need as athletes and as humans that age. Strength that actually compliments how we walk and run.

This way of rotating and twisting our core, with a full body integration comes full circle to my original work, the foot. It’s a whole body system that we can work together to make stronger and move better.
